John Denver is a popular artist and musician who has touched many people by his lyrics. A lot of them were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was raised in Roswell new Mexico, but fell in love Colorado. He eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's state anthems inspired many to visit Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated the following: John Denver was by far one of the most well-known artists who represented Colorado. In 2011 Denver was chosen as the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. Today he personifies the state for all people. Through my travels I've had the pleasure of meeting people from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform that you're from Colorado, the first words they'll use are Oh John Denver. Brown explained. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short career performing in small folk music groups comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads co-written with Bill Danoff. Danoff originally wrote it using Johnny Cash's songs with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver realized from the first moment he listened to the earlier versions that it would be a big hit. The singer recorded the song only a few days afterward after performing it to an enthusiastic audience at Washington D.C.
